LACUNA COIL To Release 'Closer' Single In October

Italy's LACUNA COIL will release "Closer" — the third single off their critically acclaimed "Karmacode" album — in October via Century Media Records.

The radio mix and edit of "Closer" was overseen by Brian Malouf. The accompanying live tracks were recorded at The State Theatre in St Petersburg, FL on March 20, 2006 by Mark Prator of Red Room Recorders and were mixed and mastered by Tom Morris at Morrisound Recording. Also included on the commercial version of the single is the video for "Closer", which was directed by Zach Merck and Nathan Cox of Fort Awesome (MARILYN MANSON, DISTURBED, THE RASMUS, STAIND).

"Closer" release dates:

U.K.: Monday, October 16, 2006.
Finland: Wednesday, October 18, 2006.
Italy: Friday, October 20, 2006.
Germany: Friday, October 27, 2006.

As previously reported, LACUNA COIL has been nominated in the "Best Italian Act" category at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2006, set to take place November 2 in Copenhagen, Denmark. LACUNA COIL's latest CD, "Karmacode", was produced by Waldemar Sorychta and LACUNA COIL in Germany and Italy. The CD was mixed by Ronald Prent (RAMMSTEIN, H.I.M., IRON MAIDEN) and mastered by Darcy Proper (STEELY DAN, PORCUPINE TREE, R.E.M.) at Galaxy Studios in Belgium. The follow-up to 2002's "Comalies" debuted at No. 28 and spent eight weeks on The Billboard 200 chart. It has sold nearly 140,000 copies in the United States so far, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
